How we made an impact

During the pandemic, Instituto Porto needed to ensure continuous learning for students without a computer and with limited internet access. We developed an offline-first mobile app that brings educational content to those who need it most.

  • 4.8Satisfaction score (out of 5.0), intuitive and engaging app

The challenge

With the arrival of Covid-19, Instituto Porto students were unable to attend in-person classes. Many had no computer or internet access at home, and the phone became their only means of studying.

The Institute needed a solution that combined technology and social purpose, enabling access to educational content offline, in a practical and intuitive way, and turned to BRQ as its partner to build it. The project required a deep understanding of the students' reality, their constraints and the need to maintain a connection to education even at a distance.

What we did

We worked end to end, from discovery and prototyping through the development of the Instituto Porto mobile app. The solution let students download class content, access subjects, assessments and messages from teachers offline, and submit assignments once connected to the Institute's Wi-Fi.

The result of the partnership between BRQ and Instituto Porto was an accessible, modern, student-centered app that fosters not only learning, but also digital autonomy and real opportunities for social transformation.
